Winter | Accessorizing A Minimalist (Basic) Winter Outfit

Hi darlings,

Over the next few weeks, I am going to be sharing some winter looks that could help you put your outfits together during the next few cold months.

This being one of my favorite ways to dress, I thought I would make it the first one up. Leggings and a loose fitting tee are always my simple go to whether we are in winter or summer. However, you will only catch me out of the house in leggings in winter – they are a bit too revealing for me to be caught without a cardigan or knee high boots to cover up a bit.

You may remember from this post that winter is kind of my favorite season even though it seems very difficult to keep warm while staying stylish because winter has a “uniform” – boots, leggings and a sweater/coat/jacket. As it is difficult to stand out it is important to figure out at least something that will make your basic outfit a WOW amongst others.

There are things like; jewelry, scarfs, coats or jackets that you can use to accessories your basic winter look in order for you to get that wow factor. This particular look is for the super chilled, relaxed minimalist.

Black and white being a wardrobe staple, I decided to build my outfit around the two pieces with different shades of brown and a gold necklace that has some diamantes and hangs below the chest which basically draws attention from the outfit’s simpleness.

Building your look around wardrobe basics is pretty easy and effective because you are not really putting an outfit together from scratch, you are just building up on what you have already.

For when the weather is a bit chilly, add a chunky snood for a warm and cute look.

I’d love to know what you think of this outfit and how you put your simple winter outfits together and what you think of this one.

What I am wearing

Pleather Jacket: Gifted

White Tee: Zara

Black Leggings: Cotton On

Boots: Solo (Gifted)

Scarf: Cotton On

Necklace: I don’t remember the jewelry shop

Hand Bag: Calvin Klein

  1. I really like your outfit (y). It’s so clean and simple.

For my simple winter outfits I also stick to a minimalist aesthetic – I normally do a basic t-shirt (sometimes white, sometimes black) paired with denim jeans, depending on how I feel, I opt for mom jeans (my fave), skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans. Coats and oversized jackets are my favourite outerwears to add on. Heeled boots would happen to be my favourite shoes to wear with these looks but this winter I would like to venture out into some sneakers too.

    1. Hi boo,
You and I are peas in a pod, the minimalist aesthetic and all. I basically just stalked your blog lol.
Please do share your sneaker looks, I need to be inspired to try them out too. I have never been that girl but it wouldn’t hurt to try.
