Catch Up … Recap | June

Happy About:

A certain friend who makes me a better person.

You wouldn’t believe just how much struggle I deal with. Well, you wouldn’t know because I do not post those moments on social media. But, anyway, I am happy to have made a friend who challenges my being and as much as he may not tell me to get rid of my “niceness” I have certainly come to realize that being nice and not speaking out all in the name of avoiding conflict isn’t the way to go. Once in a while, one must stand up for them self. That’s what makes a girl boss! Knowing when to speak out and when to keep quiet. No boss just lets things slides.

Inspired by:

I am totally inspired by the many bloggers and YouTubers I have been stalking. When you watch someone’s videos or read someone’s blog posts from when they started while you look at where they are now, there is no way one won’t be inspired. As much as I feel like my blogging and personal style have evolved in the past year and a half, knowing that I can and I am still growing keeps me humble.

The fact that I seem to have found balance in everything I am doing at the moment.

Okay, I am still skipping blog posts here and there. This post serves as evidence.  But trust me, it has gotten better and it will get even better.

Please be patient with me. By the way, this blog is also growing and all thanks to you guys for reading. I love y’all! for real.

I recently finished reading #Girlboss. OMG! I have new found confidence in myself and my work. If you are just starting out or trying to run and grow your small business this book might serve as motivation. Like myself, you might also learn that being different is more of a strength than a weakness. Being different, standing out and offering a service similar, not identical to what everyone else was offering is what has made Sophia the millions she has right now. If you would like a PDF copy do email and I will send it to you.

Listening to:

I seem to be listening to a lot of different types of music these days but best believe my West African brothers are forever topping my playlist. My favorite at the moment is the song, Afro Girl by Mr Eazi and Dotman and what makes it special is the fact that it was produced by Zimbabweans, Mr. Kamera, and Simba Tags. Is it just me or is it actually normal to feel so proud and chuffed when people you know are crossing borders doing the most?Get it, listen to it and let me know what you think. I am in love with the song and I believe it’s going to be a hit but my opinion might just be biased.

Fashion and beauty faves:

Fashion wise, I am honestly not that bothered because this winter has me in leggings almost every single day. However, I am obsessing over pink. Anything dusty pink is finding its way into my life. This bomber jacket is all the life that anyone needs.

Beauty-wise, I might just have a slight obsession with hand creams. These are definitely on my ultimate winter must have list. In the next few

These limited edition hand lotions are definitely on my ultimate winter must have list. In the next few days, I am going to post a full review of these hand lotions as part of my Beauty Love List. You need to read it because these lotions have saved my hands this winter.

I currently do not have any upcoming events or anything worth mentioning to look forward to except my results which should be out by the end of this week.

July, being the first month of the last 6 months of the year I have decided to use it a new slate. I have been styling my own shoots of late but I have now decided to enroll for a personal styling course 🙂 So by the end of the year, you will be reading blog posts by a certified personal stylist! I am super excited y’all!

I hope you all have had an awesome start to the last half of the year. There is still lots of time to achieve those things you set out for yourself in January. Just go for it.

Out of curiosity, would you hire a Personal Stylist to help you with your wardrobe? Yes? No? Maybe?

Please let me know in the comments below.
